As close as a call and sometimes a stones throw

In the days of our youth, never finding the truth

What seemed like forever, is now a fading flower

Mother, sisters, and brother,

With no intention to hurt, reality brings disconcert

when self isn’t the one we’re thinking of

We never did what was said, only what was done
With no fault to be laid, and no blame to anyone

Eric Wagner to me is a poet and a storyteller, his lyrics are thoughtful and profound and to take a quote about Chris Cornell “Nobody sings like him anymore”. He should never have died it was avoidable. Ask his bass player Ron Holzner? Too many rockers live recklessly and it has consequences for not just them and those in their families and friends but in the world wide family of rock and rollers.
